(fire your loaded drone at the target ship. Drones are purchased from stations)
Drones can be used for:
- Collecting cargo
- Prospecting

are they single use only?
How does this game compare to the Eve style of gaming?
It does not.
Let me clarify further.
While it is an online game, you can choose how you want to experience the game. There is open play, where you can see / group / fight with other players. There is also solo mode and private group. There is no offline mode, due to the fact that players can affect the universe (the economy, and now with power play, assisting their factions with taking of systems etc).
Personally, I donât care for every single dingleberry with loads of credits and severely kitted out ships from constantly interdicting me and wiping me out, so I choose to play in a private group, so that when my friends are online, we will automatically be in session together. You can create your own private group, or belong to other private groups. I currently belong to Fleaâs private group (and @Gus is a member too, though Iâm not sure if heâs still playing). The private group in this sense, is merely a private game session. We will (usually) be on the same session servers and visible in each otherâs universes, however we could be opposing factions.
Within the game, you can create a âwingâ (party) with one or more other players. With this, you can share bounties and even trade profits (although wing members trade profit share is very very low - 5% I think, whereas with bounties itâs [s]50%[/] shared equally).
Iâve only gotten back in to the game for the past two days or so. I must say that the changes since the last time I played have definitely improved the game.
The game universe is VAST. There are over 4 BILLION (PLUS) systems that it is possible to explore. If you find any undiscovered systems, you will even get credit for finding them (and your name will be immortalized on the galaxy map).
For anybody considering this game, a joystick of some kind is a definite must. A HOTAS will be your best bet, since the more buttons you have, the better. 
*There is in-game voice comms. You can âcallâ other players (or if in a wing, voice comms opens automatically). The calls sound like theyâre in deep space, itâs quite cool.
For what itâs worth, ED supports multiple joysticks, so if you donât want to fork out for a HOTAS, but you have more than one joystick lying around, you can configure as many as you want - including driving controllers w/ pedals etc 
I tangled with this guy, I barely got out alive, while not even taking down his shields.

I would go gimbal rather than turret on the Multi-cannon as it has more damage, but that shoves power draw to 100%. Maybe skimp a bit somewhere else? If you drop FSD to 4C youâre at 99% draw.

That should work, I donât need the cargo hatch/cargo scoop to be powered + added stronger shield boosters

Btw, I submitted a bug report about those 2x 200CR bounty destructions I suffered. Very very annoying.
Yeah but iâd have to earn up to 10 odd million to buy all those modules 1st!
