Steam keys will be made available to backers and those who have purchased from the frontier store. From what I understand, from May 28th-ish, you will be able to generate a steam key from your account page.

Finally got it working. The bonus is that steam downloads at full speed vs the original launcher.

It links your two accounts - steam & your original ED account, then it issues you a steam key.
