Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X (customizable) Reference

I like some of the small silly things he mentions. Like blowing you up if you take to long to land and the little bobblehead :stuck_out_tongue:

Apparently now there won’t be a wipe come Dec 16.

So much for starting out equal.

Will this eventually download the full game?

WHOOOOO! got it working on my eyefinity

I imagine so.

After playing this training demo on the joystick & in eyefinity, I can’t wait for the release. It’s a big difference using the joystick over the mouse.

All the star citizen guys, jump on this, it’s awesome.

Is Elite single player or multi-player (MMO-ish)?

It’s both.

Elite: Dangerous is the 4th installment in the Elite series of games, which includes mass-multiplayer as an integral part, while still allowing singleplayer.

The single player portion will still require online capabilities, however.

This FAQ might answer some questions.

Thanks for the info.

This is a good thread to read, it gives you a bit of the good and the bad (if you read some of the linked posts).

From what I understand - right now, the multiplayer is lacking. It’s more a companionship thing than anything else - right now. However, the game is constantly evolving, so this will hopefully change soon, particularly with “release day” being tomorrow.

From:

Whilst I’m not going to deny that it would be great to get player wings for release, the development process we’ve been through means that it’s not going to happen.

But it is one of our top priorities for post-release; the interface, the mechanics and supporting gameplay. It’s probably a massive understatement to say we’re committed to carrying on development.

Just bought it.

Just a quick note to let everyone know we are working towards making Elite: Dangerous 1.0 available for download at midday GMT tomorrow (16.12.14).

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us, participated in the early access, and made tomorrow’s release possible.

See you out there, Commanders.

So 2pm?

Wonder how big the download will be. Hopefully I can at least play tonight. (estimated download size is 3.5gb)

I’m not too worried about the huge amount of traffic coming their way from us. It is scalable immediately by the user (Frontier)
It only takes several minutes to bring more VMs (virtual machines) on-line.
The EC2 (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud) also provides the user with control over the geographical location of instances(what they call their virtual machines) that allow for latency optimization and a high level of redundancy.
Amazon’s webstore and databases use the same systems.
